Stay fit! List of FREE virtual workouts to try

Some people exercise when eating Keto or Low Carb and some people don’t. I myself started introducing exercise a few months into my Keto journey to overcome a plateau.

I went with running. On a daily basis. Listening to podcasts. Exploring the neighborhood.

I kept this up until I hurt my knee after switching to different shoes. Ouch!

Since then I’ve moved to walking every day and doing weights. A few times a week I go to Zumba or dance at home.

Mental benefits of exercise

Exercise did help with my stall but more importantly it helped me mentally.

I get up, put my gym clothes on and exercise first thing in the morning. The goal is to hit 10k steps a day and get my heart rate up at least once.

I have a walking pad - compact fold up treadmill - that is perfect for indoor walks and meetings where I just have to listen. I also have powerblocks (weights that stack into one another) and a yoga mat.

I get a sense of achievement when my Fitbit buzzes and confirms the 10k steps. I also enjoy the me time when I exercise (very important as a mom of 2 young kids). It releases tension, anxiety, stress, helps me clear my head or - if I walk slowly - catch up on Social Media and even read a book!

The impact of COVID-19 / Corona Virus

With the current situation, some of our routines are being disrupted. A lot. You might be used to going to the gym or to a class. Meet people there that hold you accountable.

Maybe you even have a personal trainer that you’re working with.

With COVID many workouts have moved to the virtual space. That doesn’t mean you have to pay though.

Exercising virtually for free!

Here’s a list of all the virtual ways to exercise I’ve found so far. If you know of more, please comment and I’ll add to the list.

I’ve added lists for kids at the bottom too if you want to scroll through.

I’m not affiliated with any of these providers and have not tested them all. Sooner or later I will test them though to change things up.

  • New users get to try the app for free for 30 days

  • No need to have the bike or treadmill

  • Yoga, meditation, strength, stretching, and bodyweight cardio and strength training

  • All you need is a mat to get started.

  • App with tons of programs to get help with lifting weights

  • Also available in Google Play store

  • You enter what areas of the body you want to work on and can pick from multi-week programs where every day you’re walked through different exercises

  • Has videos to show how to do exercises and lifts

  • Recommend having at least 2 sets of weights or even better: a Powerbank with weights from 3lbs to 24lbs

Pamela Reif

  • My new favorite since I came across her videos

  • Follow her on Instagram or check out her Pam app for weekly workout plans ranging from 30-60minutes. Slow to High intensity

  • Pamela is a german fitness guru. Has her own clothing and food lines and designs all her workouts herself

  • I’ve been doing her 45min dance based workout plans since January 2021 and have loved it.

  • For some video you need a booty band or weights but she shares alternatives too

  • My favorite on Youtube! 5.9 mio subscribers seem to agree with me!

  • Daniel & Kelli - husband and wife - have compiled over 600 FREE full length workout videos. From 15min ones to 60min 1000 kcal workouts

  • I used to do the 1000 kcal ones and they are great

  • They do strength, tabatha, HIIT, full-body or focus on certain parts

  • For some videos you need weights but for most a mat is sufficient

  • Be warned: They are not Keto fans and every 20th video or so will say something against eating Keto. Just smile and wave lol

  • Have a few kids workouts

  • Great to tone up after a Fitnessblender workout or by itself

  • 15min + workouts

  • Karena & Katrina lead you through exercises at the beach or other dreamy places and help you stretch those muscles and tone

  • 751k subscribers agree that these workouts are worth checking out

  • Pick from total body workouts to booty to bikini series and even pregnancy workouts

  • 3.63mio subscribers

  • Just a few minutes long each, so there’s no time to get bored

  • Zumba mixes many different dance styles from hip hop to salsa, pop, merrengue and more

  • UPDATE: I fell in love with Dovydas routines and have been joining his Live classes through his Facebook group too. While he has kid friendly songs. Most of his classes are geared towards adults.

  • As quick as 12min long

  • While I have never heard of Moe Jones he seems to be very known in parenting groups
